It's a legitimate argument, I played the first couple weeks of open beta in ambush only and I was new so wasn't very good, since those first two weeks I have played nothing but skirmish with the occasional ambush battle (once per week maybe)

I'm not new anymore and don't wanna toot my own horn but I'm not horrible, however, my stats would tell you otherwise because skirmish stats don't count, that's a big problem.

I'm not telling you my stats to boast, I'm pointing out that by all rights, I shouldn't be able to play in this "newberry playground" but because CCP hasn't fixed a rather large issue, myself and other players are stuck being able to play in this area, and in some cases forced to because our stats haven't been counted properly. This really puts actual new players at an even higher disadvantage because its just our WP that is keeping us there, with the academy being our only option (scrimish heavy players) it doesn't really set up a good place for newer players to learn the game.
